Stonehenge

I can't say that it was a spiritual experience to visit this World Heritage Site. But I will say that Stonehenge was and is a fastinating curiosity. I think my first introduction to the amazing place was while examining my Weekly Reader in elementary school. Off and on throughout my life I would brush up against it via a National Geographic at the dentist office or in the Saturday Evening Post.

I always paused and wondered one or two questions. "How did they do that?" And, "why did they do that?" Growing up in west Texas, it was easy for me to imagine folks dragging huge stones across the land and rigging them up somehow to form that building thing. Sandstone is plentiful along with lots of other types of stone. But standing there on that hilltop, I couldn't see any natural out cropping of stone to be mined. So my questions loomed large. How did they do it? The narrator told us that the Blue Stone which makes up part of the henge was mined 150 miles away. Why did they do that?

Buck's Artistic Mission Statement

"I am a weaver of words since 14 years old, telling stories at Slim's Barbershop, while I shined shoes and made folks laugh."

Buck P. Creacy is a humorist and a storyteller and he uses humor to make life better for his audience. It was while shining shoes at the barber shop, he realized he could shine more shoes if his customers were laughing.

"I love the connection I enjoy with my audience and their own imaginations."

An “honest to God” humorist, Buck shares both wit and wisdom with children and the international corporate world alike.

"I love drawing their faces and hearts into the story, my world; our world's oldest art."

England Tee minus three days

Around my place it is a flurry of activity and hard pressed decisions. Oh yes, which work clothes to take in case something breaks down? Work clothes is the wrong phrase to use all along. Cause I don't plan on doing any work. I am not afraid of work. I can lay right down beside it and nap. But I like work clothes because they are comfortable. Which boots and shoes to take? Will Hawaiian shirt with the big flowers all over it actually fit in with my new British friends? I tell you this cultural stuff is tricky business. I just never would want to offend anyone.

Only yesterday, I was trying to decide upon the contents of haggis. Strictly from a visual perspective you understand. It can't be bad for you. They have been eating it for years and years. Even before the Romans conquered Britan, short lived as it was, they were eating that haggis. I suppose I will eat it too. I'm a sport.

Will our wonderful British friends ever be the same? The answer remains to be seen. But one thing is certain, someone over there is going to have some fun. This should be an adventure of a lifetime for Buck and for England!
